We actually never "view" saved searches through the Entity API – do we still need to set the display options for all fields in SavedSearch::baseFieldDefinitions()? Or can we even set the entity type as "unviewable" somehow, so admins also won't see the "Manage field display" tab?
Or do we want to support this? In that case, we should probably review the (default) display settings and review whether we might want to make at least some of the displays configurable by admins.

It's likely this issue predates Contrib.social: some issue and comment data are missing.
On reflection, I don’t think this is a release blocker, nor even something we need to address currently. Seems we can just wait until someone complains about the way we currently handle this.
