editing existing theme css files

First off - this theme is a fab piece of work!!

I'm not a proper coder so I'd like to be able to edit the theme's CSS files rather than start from scratch - the indigo theme is an excellent starting point. I've tried to do this but I'm not having much success :)

As an example I've identified the specific style sheet that appears to control the font used in both the copyright and User account menu blocks - i.e. /sites/default/files/css/css_zuz27lhHlvC9bZoM95U6KT0c7To2iXLmQhxJiFlA82E.css

the font was times new roman and I have been able to change it to...

.copyright-inner, .ul-parent-account, .ul-parent-footer {font-family: FontAwesome;}

however it is still being displayed as times new roman!

Can you explain to me to how I can make this work please?

Many thanks in advance
