Proposal to switch Cloudflare library

I've been using Cloudflare's own PHP SDK for making requests to Cloudflare using a Symfony app (https://github.com/typhonius/acquia_cli) and upon some research it may be useful to consolidate efforts for future projects against:

Enhancing their PHP SDK specifically for things like tag based purging if needed (https://github.com/cloudflare/cloudflare-php/blob/b91dd5e6844b46511b691d...)
Consolidating around Cloudflare's own SDK for managing interaction with its API e.g. getting off the island etc

I'd like this issue to be a place initially to discuss the merits/drawbacks of such a switch and to define a plan for whether it would make sense to undertake such a change.
