I'll closed without fixe since it's totally something we don't want to do : tracking user with some IP or other personnal informations. So this will not be fixed, and function has been remove in other drupal version.
Top visitors page list duplicate usernames when the user has logged in from multiple ip addresses. This is confusing to the end user as the ip address is not displayed for along with the authenticated user's username. So it appears the totals have not been added correctly. I'll include a patch in the first comment that separates the username and ip address columns so it is more clear to the user.
This also has the added benefit of being able to see anonymous activity for some users since their ip address will match their logged in activity.
