I set the field settings to use only my contry Brazil, now I cannot save my content, it show the error "Postal code field is not in the right format."
I tested with blank value, 4 digits, 5 digits, 8 digits, etc.
the proper mask is #####-###, I tested with: 12345-678 and 12345678 (without hiphen)
I try to locate it in the module code and the library code, no luck. If I could pinpoint the right place, I could fix it and submit the patch for you.

I have the same issue with Egypt and plugin version Address 8.x-1.9
The pattern is \d{5} and I enter 12345 it's not accepting it.
1. What is a solution I can apply now from the Administration panel?
2. Is the only solution to override the module?
