Use view modes to render terms

Sometimes, it is useful to add more fields to taxonomy terms. For example, once I had to add an image field to a vocabulary of locations. This field was used to store symbols of that locations, which were used for signaling. Since locations already have a hierarchical structure, it is much easier to use Taxonomy than creating a module with a custom entity for that.

In this scenario, I had to create several views to show the locations' symbols aside their names, including the whole hierarchy (building, floor, room). Apparently, Views does not provide an out-of-the-box solution for this use case. So I decided to write a patch to allow view modes to be used by Hierarchical Term Formatter.

The idea is to allow the user to select a view mode to render each term in the terms hierarchy.
