when theres a search form in the header after submitting a vote the search gets an active state resulting in a redirect to search when the user presses the enter key

It's likely this issue predates Contrib.social: some issue and comment data are missing.
I'm not sure why that core issue is relevant to the Voting API? Is there something that needs to be done here, other than fixing core? Voting API is not even mentioned in that issue.
