Warning: require_once(__DIR__/unused_modules.inc)

I tried to install this module and it would not install and I got this from reports:

Warning: require_once(__DIR__/unused_modules.inc) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in require_once() (line 7 of .../sites/all/modules/unused_modules/unused_modules.module).

It was working on Drupal 7.52 but updated today to 7.53 and I got white screen of death because of this module. Restored to 7.52 uninstalled this module then installed 7.53 and tried to reinstall and above happened.

I like this module, what has gone wrong with it and latest drupal core?
