Problems With Getting S3 To Work

Hi, thanks again for your module and all the work you’ve put into it! Unfortunately, I’m still having a heck of a time getting the S3 module to work.

In your documentation, under the “Aggregated CSS and JS in S3” section you note:
"* When you've got a module like "Advanced CSS/JS Aggregation" installed, things
get hairy. For now, that module is not compatible with s3fs public:// takeover."
Does that mean that using “Advanced CSS/JS Aggregation” module is only an issue with S3FS if you want your CSS and JS files stored on S3?, or is the “Advanced CSS/JS Aggregation” module a problem to use generally?, or only if you have "Use S3 for public:// files” activated?

The problem I’m having is that I'm mostly able to get my user uploaded images to S3/Cloudfront, but sometimes an image does not upload. I am using the “Advanced CSS/JS Aggregation” module because if I don’t activate it then some of my local images won’t appear at all (mostly images related to theme and stored in theme folders, but some others as well). I also have to use "Don't rewrite CSS/JS file paths” otherwise my css files will not load.

Do you have any suggestions or ideas of what I can do? Is it considered standard configuration to run with "Use S3 for public:// files”, "Don't rewrite CSS/JS file paths” as normal settings? Really getting frustrated, so any help would be very greatly appreciated. Thank you.

    Drupal 7 end-of-life triage:
Drupal 7 reached end of life on January 5th.

The 7.x branches of S3FS do not have any additional planned releases.

Latest Drupal 10/11 releases no longer store CSS/JS in the public:// streamWrapper and instead use a new assets:// wrapper.
