I thought there was a d.o issue a while ago that explained why or why not for indexing a view or page into your index for searching but I was unable to find it so I figured I would open an issue and ask.
Is there a limitation or a reason for not being able to index views as if they were any other type of entity? We have a # of views in which very specific content is displayed and the view has some meta-data that can be searched on, explaining the purpose of that page. I was asked if we could, from our main site search index these views as if they were any other entity and have them become available in our main search results.
I can know I can "make it work" with some code and wizardry but was wondering what technical or otherwise limitation there was for not having it as any other datasource?

It's likely this issue predates Contrib.social: some issue and comment data are missing.
Since the core issue has since been fixed is this effectively tracked under #2981091 → or could it be re-opened? I'd love to be able to index a view page directly, rather than the current workaround of creating a view block and inserting that into a page via the Advanced Insert View → module.
