Pull in most recent event by nearest event date

I am trying to set up a 3 blocks on my home page so that it pulls in the most recent event dates from my calendar of events. I can't seem to figure out how to only show the most recent day of events and not the events from the next day.

So for example:

I have 3 blocks on the home page. Events Block 1, Events Block 2, and Events Block 3
I have 4 event dates, Tuesday, Thursday, Next Monday, and Next Wednesday.

If today is Monday:

Events Block 1: I only want to show the events for the most recent day, so events for Tuesday.
Events Block 2: I only want to show the events for Thursday.
Events Block 3: I only want to show the events for Next Monday

If today is Wednesday:

Events Block 1: I only want to show the events for the most recent day, so events for Thursday.
Events Block 2: I only want to show the events for Next Monday.
Events Block 3: I only want to show the events for Next Wednesday.

Can anyone tell me if there is a way to configure my filters so that my Events Blocks will only pull in the most recent event?
