Search method returns no results when wildcards are used in type name

Elasticsearch supports wildcards in the index name when making search queries, but these are not supported in the type name. If a plugin has the template node-{content_type} for the type name, then node-* gets used when making a search request, but Elasticsearch is looking for this exact type value, which of course doesn't exist.
