I installed this module because of its simple pageview total integration with views. I didn't find it in google_analytics_reports. Right now I have both installed on a production site.

I have a feeling google_analytics_counter is slow in fetching data. My settings are as follows:

  • Cron frequency = every 3 hours
  • Min time between GA data fetches = 30 min (default)
  • Number of items to fetch in one req = 10k
  • Max API reqs / day = 10k (default)
  • query cache = 1 day (default)
  • Start date = overriden to a date in 2015
  • Using the module's db table

Cron ran 6 times but I have data only for 116 out of 876 nodes. I am a bit concerned because we're used to seeing the core statistics counter (now disabled) increment with every page refresh! Also, google_analytics_reports has data for all the nodes (I think it fetched it in the very first cron run).

Is there anything I can do (other than running cron more frequently) to fetch results faster with google_analytics_counter?

Because of the Universal Analytics shutdown, version 7.x-3.x is no longer supported.
As Drupal 7 EOL is close, please consider upgrading to the latest Drupal and latest version of this module with Google Analytics 4 support.
If you are still here and experiencing problems with the latest version using GA4, then please open an issue about it.
