Search views integration not working when using search plugin that extends NodeSearch

What are the steps required to reproduce the bug?

Create a plugin that extends \Drupal\node\Plugin\Search\NodeSearch
Set the default node search to use your new plugin instead of NodeSearch (the only way I could figure out how to override the default node search page is by overriding CMI)
You'll find that there is no "Search: Search Keywords" filter field in views.

What behavior were you expecting?

Search views integration should work with plugins that extend NodeSearch

A usage example: a site I worked on required some customized search settings. This required extending NodeSearch. Views integration for search didn't seem to exist anymore at this point.

What happened instead?

No search views filters exist/are enable
