Possibility of altering the settings form

I am writing a MongoDB client (as a plugin). I wonder if there is a way to alter the settings form, because some of the settings are irrelevant for MongoDB (such as url parameters) and it probably needs other settings.

Could anyone provide a hint on how to achieve that?
