It's already there a D8 working & compatible version of automatic node title ( https://www.drupal.org/node/2608660 → ), but the "hidden title" is visible when the inline entity form is used to create a new node.

I'm closing this because the related issue has been closed. Since there haven't been any other responses to this issue in 7 years, I'm going to assume that either there's been a lack of interest or it was fixed in the other module. Feel free to reopen this issue if it still needs work.
