Convert to entities

I'd like to suggest converting mailing lists to entities. That way things like Rules support → would be much easier and it seems to be more the 'Drupal way' of doing things.

Also, if they were made to be fieldable entities, then mailing lists would become bundles (e.g. monthly newsletter, prize draw) and things like 'email address' and 'name' would be fields. You could also add other, custom fields like 'first name', 'surname', 'address', 'phone', etc. which would become fields that people fill out when subscribing to a mailing list.

I imagine this would need to become a separate version of the module, like 2.x.
