Incorrect value for [eventyyyy] in URL alias after edit node

I have a format defined as hosted-meets/[eventyyyy]/[title-raw]. The content type was created using CCK and has event associated with it. When I use the bulk create in URL aliases, the URLs created are as expected with the event year as part of the URL. If I later go in and edit the node and save, the URL alias gets changed with the year being 1969. When I'm editing the node, the information in the field for the URL path settings field is correct. There is no indication that there will be a different URL alias created. Here is the message I get after save:

Created new alias hosted-meets/1969/amac-kinsmen-invitational for node/75, replacing hosted-meets/2007/amac-kinsmen-invitational

The problem is that now every time I edit nodes of this type with this URL alias format specified, I now have to add the step of changing the URL alias to what is expected (proper year).
