Consider moving the flexslider_picture into a contrib?

I have been using Picture and FlexSlider for quite a while.
Please accept my gratitude and respect for the great work on this.

Forgive me if I missed a similar issue from the search.

Now that Picture is very matured and solid product, and has made its way into core, I wonder if the maintainers could consider moving FlexSlider into a contrib?

This not only opens up greater integration by other slider solutions, things come and go, but may hopefully reduce some burden → on Picture.

On a side note, I have been able to incorporate Picture into Slick carousel, which is an alternative to the famous FlexSlider. I realized it is not the greatest integration at this stage, but it has at least no real issues so far, and still open for improvements and features if any.
