user can't log into slave site

Hi
I configured both master and slave appropriately. I cleared cache on both (using drupal cache-clear all) and cleared browser's cookies.
Login (with a non-admin user) into the master goes OK. I then surf in the same tab or a new tab to the slave, and it prompts me for user/password.
In short: nothing works.
