Now that we have Checkout support in, we should see how easy it would be to create a Checkout button field that launches a Checkout button, and that is subsequently created as an order in Commerce. Sort of a "Two-click payment" method.
Alternatively (maybe even as a new feature request) we can do something similar if a user has a default Card on File, a "Buy now" button that only shows in that case. It could allow someone to do a simple click-and-pay transaction on the product currently being views. This might work especially well for Licensed products that don't necessarily even need to go through the complete checkout process, for instance digital products that can be delivered immediately. Think for example iTunes purchases of a single MP3 track or album - we should allow a simple "Pay and Play" button that uses the Stripe API, creates a charge to the card on file, and then creates a new license (and order) without any checkout process whatsoever.
Would love to know your thoughts!
