In a standart commerce installation (not kickstart) the "Commerce add to cart confirmation" module does not work well with Better Messages Module.
I think it inherits the "close after 2 seconds" from Better Messages or something like that. After adding something to cart it closes the confirmation window Immediately. I disabled the better messages.
