'Use redirects by default' not working as expected

I have my sites setup to 'Generate www.domain.com alias automatically' and want the www alias to automatically redirect to the main domain (the domain I enter at the top of the Create Site screen). I have therefore checked the 'Use redirects instead of aliases by default' thinking this would allow for that...

However, when creating a site, the 'Redirect all domain aliases to' field defaults to 'No redirection' and cannot be changed as no other aliases exist until I submit the form.

I recommend:

1. Providing an option for the 'Redirect all domain aliases to' field that references the main domain.
2. Have this new option selected by default for new sites when the 'Use redirects instead of aliases by default' option is checked.
