Statistics should respect user date format for displayed timestamp

It's very annoying/confusing for users when presented with dates like 04/09 when used to 09/04 or vice versa.

In admin/reports/hits timestamps are displayed as, for example:
04/09/2013 - 17:26 (mm/dd/yyyy)

whereas I have configured the regional date-time settings (admin/config/regional/date-time) to be:

• Long: Tuesday, April 9, 2013 - 17:27
• Medium: Tue, 2013-04-09 17:27
• Short: 2013-04-09 17:27

I would like my dates to be displayed as 09/04/2013 - 17:26.

Is this a bug or do I misunderstand something somewhere?
