Cannot set row variable if field has own formatter or is an embedded view.

If a field has it's own formatter, I am forced to use the rendered result or else any changes to that row variable's settings results in the Views UI sending me to that field's settings dialog. A good example is the Commerce Price field.

When trying to use another View as a field, checking the box to use the rendered result or choosing to uncheck the "enabled" box sends me to that field's settings dialog. A work-around for this part is to do it manually through a PHP field.

In both cases, the View is unable to be saved. No errors are displayed, including in the Google Chrome console.
