Error when entering coupon in checkout

I have followed your readme on how to create the new rules and assigned it to the taxonomy term in my coupon.
When entering the coupon code in checkout I get this error:

Call to a member function value() on a non-object in sites\all\modules\commerce_coupon_by_terms\commerce_couponterms.rules.inc on line 152

I checked out the $term object and its a bit over my head! Any ideas how to fix?
