Tried 7.x and 7.x dev versions of Date iCal and Calendar. Tried creating displays and views manually as well as via the "Date Wizard". When my calendar is empty, calendar.ics can be downloaded. As soon as an event is added it no longer works.
In structure> views a pop-up with this error text is displayed for the iCal display (only after adding an event):

Ditto when accessing the feed link via: http://pack172.org/cal/month
When the calendar has no events it works as expected.

I am now getting this as well.
I'm thinking its a PHP8 issue as I've just updated to that from 7.4
