I followed the instructions on ImageMagick for the manual install and confirmed ImageMagick was working.
After entering the path I got an error message :
User error: ImageMagick error 5: dyld: Library not loaded: /ImageMagick-6.7.5/lib/libMagickCore.5.dylib Referenced from: bin/convert Reason: image not found in _imagemagick_convert_exec() (line 481 of modules/imagemagick/imagemagick.module).

I didn't want to download the 1.7GB XCode file and instead went with http://cactuslab.com/imagemagick/
Now the "path to convert" in the config is /usr/local/ImageMagick/bin/convert
and ImageMagick now works.
