Views sub-select exposed filters

I apologize in advance if this information is easily available somewhere, but I was unable to find any solution to my dilemma.

I need to create a view with exposed filters that takes the user to a second step where they can then filter down even further by selecting individual result rows with a checkbox that ultimately limits the results to those records only.

For example, the user selects from a few options in exposed filters that then outputs some results. To the left of each row is a checkbox that they can check to include those rows in the final output after clicking on a filter button.

Views Bulk Operations almost does this, but I have no way to then pass the checked items on to a final result page (where I have PDF and Excel output feed links).
