Cron still not running

I have Automatically run cron: set for 1 day yet every time I go to my status report page it tells me cron has not run in 22 weeks +. When I try to run cron manually (http://my-site.com/admin/reports/status/run-cron) I get a blank page so maybe there is more going on than this module.
