LM Paypal not checking if the node has been published

I am using LM Paypal and Moder8 with Drupal 6. When a node is created it goes both to the LM Paypal and moderation cues. When the admin approves the node in Moder8, this gets published... but LM Paypal still marks it at "unpaid" (which is correct) and that the node "will not be visible to others" (which is NOT correct).

I see two things here: LM Paypal doesn't actually check the published status of a node when displaying this message?
LM Paypal should have a more heavy control over the published status of a node, or at least configurable, to overwrite whatever another module does to the node publish status.

Is that correct? If so, how can I make LM Paypal to check and revert any publications of node that still haven't been paid?
