Place an attachment next to the page output

Upfront, I suspect (know) this is an operator ignorance issue but after hours and hours trying to solve it I'm chancing a request for help...............

I have a faq content type - simple question/answer which is picked up in view called faq list. The view has a page that lists the questions [title] and an attachment that shows a single faq question [title] and answer [body]. Click on a question, see the answer. I would like the attachment to appear at the right hand side of the page i.e. list of questions on the left, click on one and see the answer on the right.

I understand that the solution will probably comprise a mix of customising a version of the views-view.tpl.php template file along with css both of which I have been trying. I think my brick wall is the fact that the attachment div is nested in the page div, so any css I use to pick up the page content invariably picks up the attachment as well.

Any help would be VERY gratefully received.
