Line Feeds/Breaks in Digest/Long Disappear when Mime Mail Enabled

I am having a minor problem with Notifications using Mime Mail. The output is formatted nicely, but in Digest/Long, the 'Read More' line runs into the title of the next update:

I have set up an HTML Messaging input format with the recommended sequence (URL filter, HTML filter, Line break converter), included all the HTML tags that I normally use and assigned it to the Mime Mail method in both the Mime Mail configuration and Messaging setup. I have tried enabling Mime Mail CSS Compressor (no improvement and did strange things to indenting).

I then tried adding a separator the Message template Notifications Digest / Groups digests per node since this is the only one that appears to have the 'Read More' line. Clearly, I have not found the right template since none of my changes are being picked up.

I am running Mime Mail 6.x-1.0-alpha6, Messaging 6.x-2.3 (Messaging, Mime Mail and Simple Mail enabled) and Notifications 6.x-2.3 (Notifications, Content Notifications, Custom subscriptions, Nice links, Notifications Lite, Notifications UI and Taxonomy Notifications enabled).

Any help in diagnosing this problem would be greatly appreciated! A lot of my users want rich-text digests but also complain about the lack of separation between parts in the digest.

Thanks in advance, Norbert

This is a very old issue, D6 is no longer supported and I have no way of trying to reproduce this issue.

If this is still a problem with the current version of Mime Mail then please open a new issue with more details about how to reproduce the problem. At a minimum, we need to see the raw email, including headers, as it was received so that we can see whether and how Mime Mail improperly formatted the content.
